DevTeam: redsn0w-Update auf 0.8 mit 3Gs Jailbreak & Unlock

DevTeamDas DevTeam hat mit dem redsn0w-Update auf Version 0.8 (offizielle Download-Seite) ihren ersten Jailbreak für das iPhone 3Gs veröffentlicht. Mit dem gleichzeitigen ultras0w-Update für Windows und OS X wir auch gleich der passende Unlock mitgeliefert. Unter anderen ermöglicht „redsn0w“ den Jailbreak des iPhone 2G, 3G, 3Gs, iPod Touch 1G und 2G bis Firmware 3.0.

So ermöglicht das jetzt aktuelle “Mobile Substrate-Update” die Verwendung von Winterboard (Themes und Skins) auf dem iPhone 3Gs mit dem Jailbreak.

Womöglich hat das DevTeam auf den Jailbreak “purplera1n” von GeoHot reagiert und ihren Jailbreak vorzeitig veröffentlicht. Ursprünlichwollte das DevTeam den Jailbreak erst mit der Firmware 3.1 anbieten.

Ultrasn0w for iPhone 3G is ready!

  • Ensure you have upgraded to iPhone OS 3.0
  • Jailbreak your iPhone 3G using redsn0w or PwnageTool (this will also install Cydia/Icy)
  • Run Cydia or Icy
  • Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia or Icy. That last “o” is actually the number zero “0”! If you use the letter “o” you’ll get an error.
  • Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in cydia or icy and install ultrasn0w
  • Reboot your iPhone 3G
  • T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before using ultrasn0w
